Lydia Forson and the Fulani braids

Award winning actress, writer and social advocate, Lydia Forson released a picture of hereself in the trendy fulani breads in grand style.
The stunning picture was spotted on her instagram page with the caption, "I'm loving all the natural hair stories I'm reading so far! It's going to be so hard to choose but keep them coming."

Although others call it Alicia Keys braids, we call it Fulani braids because it is inspired by the Fulani people who are primarily Muslims and traditionally pastoral ethnic group in West Africa and parts of East Africa.
The exploration of "GO NATURAL and DIY" has revamp old-but-fashionable protective styles that can be rocked at anytime and place.

First it was the goddess braids, bob braids, crochet methods and now fulani braids.

The fulani braids has four common elements to its pattern:
  1. One cornrow braided down the center of your head from front to back.
  2. One or two cornrows on each side of your head braided from back to front, with the tails hanging on each side of your head.
  3. A braid wrapped around the perimeter of your head.
  4. Beads, cowry shells, gold clips throughout the braids.
